with Dominique Horitz and Berthold Warnecke, Euro Studio Landgraf
Numbered seats
Serge Gainsbourg, brilliant singer-songwriter, eternal provocateur, constant smoker. World famous to this day for the duet "Je t'aime ... moi non plus" sung with Jane Birkin. In this piece, Dominique Horwitz, Berthold Warnecke and a four-person live band embark on an exciting search for the brilliant artist, whose death in 1991 was mourned by an entire nation. Horwitz slips into Gainsbourg's cheeky alter ego Gainsbarre, touches on the life stages of the star, who grew up in France as the son of Jewish immigrants, and uses snapshots to trace the eventful career of one of the most important singer-songwriters of the 20th century.
Dominique Horwitz, known from numerous television roles and an award-winning actor from INTHEGA, the Association of Guest Theaters, embodies Gainsbourg. He knows our "Equilibre" very well from his performance "Red" (2016) about the life of the painter Rothko and recently from "Miss Julie".
In this highly acclaimed performance, we can expect insights into the inner life of the brilliant artist and the man Gainsbourg, who wavered between self-doubt and vision, as well as convincing interpretations of his unforgettable chansons. Trigger warning: There is smoking on stage. In general, Serge Gainsbourg did not hold back much when it came to sex, tobacco and alcohol.
