Glaciers are melting, peaks are crumbling. But after years of mass tourism and exploitation, a rethink is taking place with regard to the Alps. In addition to ecological and economic needs, many people's longing for peace and untouched wilderness is also increasing.
In her new documentary, Swiss director Dominique Margot portrays researchers, artists and mountaineers who are dealing with the mountains in new, unknown ways. They all use the Alps as a resource for their fresh and innovative projects. "Bergfahrt" invites you on a fascinating journey to the mythical giants with their magical attraction.
