In the exhibition, Hervé's images of the works of numerous master builders meet the oeuvre of Le Corbusier, which he extensively documented.
The photographer Lucien Hervé (1910–2007) conveys architecture in images. His photographs bring buildings to life in a masterful balance of light and shadow. Hervé's minimalist views of specific details or the materials of a room powerfully showcase architects' ideas and condense them into abstract compositions. Le Corbusier was fascinated by Lucien Hervé's unique visual language and described him as having an “architect's soul”. A first meeting in 1949 led to a collaboration between the two that lasted over 15 years. In the exhibition, Hervé's images of the works of numerous master builders meet the oeuvre of Le Corbusier, which he extensively documented.
