Concert with the wind quintet “ensemble focus”
The wind quintet ensemble focus is one of the winning ensembles of the Paul Juon chamber music competition, which was held for the first time at the Kunsthalle Appenzell in autumn 2023. It combines Paul Juon's Wind Quintet op. 84 with cleverly orchestrated French music. Debussy's "Petite Suite" and Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin" are juxtaposed with Jacques Ibert's "Trois pièces brèves" and Henri Tomasi's "Cinq danses profanes et sacrées", which take up the theme of dance in an idiosyncratic way.
