Festival Siberian Summer 2024, Trogen

  • Sounds

Mich Gerber, Squaremetersample, Indri, Chor vo Wald, DJ Nuri

In a small valley above Trogen, the forces of chaos are forming at this very moment into a far-reaching drumbeat of the frivolous, cheeky culture of joy. You are cordially invited to the well-known valley state of little.sibiria, where culture and nature will merge into the most tempting forms for the fifth time in August 2024. World-class music, a floating circus tent, dancing wildlings, food and drink await you, off the beaten festival track in a mindful, family atmosphere.
The eighth day of the festival is also peppered with highlights.

Equipped with his double bass and live sampling looping system, Mich Gerber creates fantastic sound worlds. He uses the entire range of sounds that this instrument has to offer and slowly works his way from groovy baselines to bowed melodies to complex harmonies. Inspired by string instruments from all over the world, he gives his music an oriental sound and draws both typically dark sounds and rough overtones from his bass.
What a vocal color, what an atmosphere is created here. With just her voice and guitar, Indri (Laura Scamacca) creates a whole, perfect nest in which we want to nestle, feel safe and can grow stronger. Sometimes fantastic, sometimes down to earth, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes motherly energetic, she embodies the spirit of the festival like no other.
Squaremetersample is a vessel for collaborations around Nathalie Maerten. Music is currently being created from soulful singing, playful electronics and wonderful hiccup arrangements. Nathalie Maerten refuses to commit herself musically, which makes her a real chameleon guerrilla. Sometimes she walks along the edges, sometimes through the middle, sometimes through the desert, sometimes she flies under or over galaxies,
walks through time and space, lush meadows, past burning cars and colorful birds - only to land sober on the ground again.
The Chor vo Wald, a choir that has won multiple awards, invites you to an audience. In addition to putting on large concerts or entertaining projects, the choir sings in church services and takes part in the club life of the village and the region with serenades. In Little Siberia, their voices will echo as far as the Gäbris and beyond.
