Amossa, pastoral of the 21st century
Creation for mixed choir, female soloists and orchestra
A modern-day shepherd writes this 21st century pastoral with a timeless storyline. The tale of « Amossa » is based on a father-daughter transmission rite and integrates intergenerational upheavals
The music combines the tradition of the classical chamber orchestra with the sometimes jazzy rhythms of percussion and bass guitar. The two horns in F evoke the side of the pastoral, the strings underline the inner tensions of the characters, and everything is done to highlight the human voices, in a polyphony of depth. seven voices between the choir and the soloists.
Focusing on the female character of Amossa, the work brings together a traditional mixed choir and the voices of young professional singers.
À the manner of the shepherd and his flock, the transhumous spectacle in the pre-Alpine areas of Châtel-St-Denis where; he is created, Château-d’Oex, then returns to the country of the Abboté Bovet àgrave; Sâles.
