Her grandmother proudly said about the powerful-voiced singer Claudia Masika: “We finally have another musician in the family!” Claudia Masika learned the magic of traditional songs in the Luo language from her. With her rousing Afro-fusion sound, she impressed at various African festivals throughout Europe, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Sziget in Budapest. The versatile artist has lived in Switzerland for around 15 years. She has established herself as a musician, painter, owner of a fashion label and also as the founder and president of an aid organization for young women in Kenya (HOFOGI).
