The "Kaiser" Franz Beckenbauer is an icon of German football and seems like a national treasure, but Franz Beckenbauer as a person is reserved for only a few. In this documentary, the authors Philipp Grüll and Christoph Nahr weave both facets together to give a look at a life's work with light and shadow. They speak to Beckenbauer's family and companions from all phases of his sporting career.
